In this Quick Reference Guide (QRG) always replace 'example.com' with your website IP address or domain name; always replace 'username' with the username you configured within the control panel.


Cpanel and WHM (Web Hosting Manager) have been installed in your new VDS.

[How To] Registering NameServers

Since you are a VDS customer you will need to either manage your nameservers through your domain registrar(s) or register your own nameservers. We have a detailed How To in our customer forums here - http://forum.myriadnetwork.com/showthread.php?t=9


Web Hosting Manager (WHM)
------------------------------------
https://example.com:2087 [secure]
http://example.com/whm [non secure]

Your login ID to WHM is : 'root' and your password is the one you request during signup. It is also the root password to the server.


Control Panel (cPanel)
-----------------------------------
https://example.com:2083 [secure]
http://example.com/cpanel [non secure]


SSH Login
-------------
You need to use an SSH client (such as PuTTY) to login to your server, login with the IP adddress assigned (provided in your welcome email) and use the password you provided during signup for access. You can also access your account via the Java based client within the Power Panel (described below).

Root Account
-----------------
The same password provided during signup is also used for the root account. To access the root account login via SSH using your unprivilidged account and su - root (recommended).You can also login directly as root (not recommended).


Power Panel (VZPP)
-------------------------
Point your browser to https://example.com:4643 and log in as 'root' with the password provided during signup. There is extensive online help but the interface is also very intuitive. The panel allows you to start and stop the VPS, make backups and restore, reinstall system files, manage services, etc. etc.
